The SDL Forum is held every 2 years by the SDL Forum Society and has become the
most important event in the calendar for anyone involved in System Design
Languages and related technologies. It is the primary conference event where the
evolution of these languages is discussed.

The SDL Forum Society is a non-profit organisation established by language users
and tool providers to promote and develop the set of modelling languages
recommended by ITU (ASN.1, MSC, SDL, eODL, TTCN and URN). This year, the scope
of the SDL Forum conference has been extended to include the use of precise UML
models, combining the strong areas of the ITU languages with the pragmatics of
UML to produce profitable code and effective implementations.

The intended audience includes users of modelling techniques (in industrial,
research and standardization contexts), tool vendors and language researchers.
By tradition, the SDL Forum is a meeting place for people from industry with
people from academia, bringing research results directly to the industry.
SDL'05 includes papers as well as discussion session to state-of-the-art
problems in the area of system design languages.
