TTCN-3 Web Forum 31 Aug 2005 07:31 #6868

Hi everyone,

We have created a TTCN-3 discussion forum on the web. Please go to
forum.ttcn-3.org to register. My intention is that we eventually
move all technical discussion on TTCN-3 from the mailing list to this
forum, so I kindly request that everyone on this list takes a few
minutes to go through the simple forum registration process. If you
don't you may miss out! If you have any difficulties with registration
or using the tool please feel free to contact me.

Also, a reminder that TTCN-3 Change Requests can be submitted on-line at
www.ttcn-3.org/TTCN3cr.htm.

Regards
Anthony

Missed, Antti has taken the first place ;-)

I also hope that this forum will be the place of fruitful and essential discussions.

I was monitoring this list for any issue in relation with ASN.1. I have
no time to go to the website and check if things are of interest to me
there. I let one of you keep me informed in case you need help in
relation with ASN.1 (there has not been a lot over the past months!).

As a "passive reader" I like the mailing list. It is very convenient
to archive the mails using automatic filtering by sender and/or
subject. I like the facility to search through the archive fast
(locally using grep). What exactly are the advantages of the forum
compared to the list?

Hi Olivier,

Ok, I will keep you informed in case of ASN.1 related discussions. As you say, there has not been a lot regarding ASN.1 during the last few months as we were concentrating on the consolidation of new features in TTCN-3 ed.3.

Hi Wolfgang,

This kind of forum works like an archive, it is easy to find/read old(er) discussions. In principle it also can send mail notification if new posting arrives in a topic you have sent a posting before - though I do not have experience with it yet. And last but not least - it does not load mailboxes.

So, I think, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
