MSc and PhD Program on Human-Centric Communication ... including the testing aspect 20 Jun 2007 09:10 #7152

Dear all,

although this is a bit off topic, but we are looking for good candidates for a new MSc and PhD programme at TU Berlin on Human-Centric Communication ... including the testing aspects ... so I would appreciate if excellent testers would apply as well ;-)

For details please see below.

Please be aware that the deadline is already June 25, 2007.

I am ready to answer questions you might have.

Cheers, Ina.

MSc Programm

Starting in October 2007, the H-C3 Initiative (Human-Centric Communication Cluster) at the Technische Universität Berlin offers

15 places in the Masters Program of the
Integrated Graduate Program in Human-Centric Communication (IGP H-C3)

The H-C3 Initiative seeks to promote development of technologies that provide flexible and intuitive communications approaches for the good of mankind. This innovative program follows a vision of Human-Centric Communication offering flexible and intuitive support in accessing situation-dependent information as well as in exchanging information with others. More than 50 academic groups are contributing their expertise to this initiative, especially the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as 11 non-university research institutes.

The initiative's graduate program provides students and doctoral candidates with an ideal environment to conduct research, in addition to the supervision they need to obtain their doctoral degrees. Students can profit directly from the TU Berlin's outstanding research partnerships comprising a network of scientific facilities that performs at the highest international level. Students will also have an opportunity to earn a doctorate in a future-oriented area of telecommunications, just three years after obtaining a Master's degree.

This call for applications in the Masters Program is open to graduates who have already obtained an excellent Bachelor degree (or equivalent
degree) within the standard time-to-degree in the broad field of telecommunications and H-C3-relevant academic groups. To qualify for this Integrated Graduate Program, students must first be enrolled in a Masters Degree Program at the TU Berlin (submission deadline for winter semester 2007/08: July 16, 2007) in one of the following majors:
computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or in specialized scientific fields relevant H-C3: mathematics, physics or economics.

Students will graduate with a Masters degree upon completion of the 4-semester Integrated Masters Program. After receiving a Master's degree, students will be evaluated on the basis of their overall performance, in order to determine their suitability for acceptance in the subsequent Integrated PhD Program.
Right from the beginning, students in the Integrated Graduate Program will take part in a work study scheme consisting of 60 hours of practical work per month in H-C3-relevant research projects that are directly related to their specialized academic subjects.

For more information about the program and the admission procedure (including online registration) see:

www.h-c3.org/index_en.html

The deadline for sending in applications for admission to the program is no later than June 25, 2007.

PhD Program

Starting in October 2007, the H-C3 Initiative (Human-Centric Communication Cluster) at the Technische Universität Berlin offers

10 Scholarships in the PhD Program as part of the

The prerequisite for admission to the Integrated Graduate Program is that the applicant has already fulfilled the general admission requirements that are currently in force for doctoral studies at the TU Berlin.

The Integrated PhD Program is a three-year Doctoral Studies Program.
Doctoral candidates may receive scholarships, with the amount of financial aid comparable to that of DFG scholarships. Dissertation supervision will be provided by two professors, at least one of which is directly associated with the H-C3 Initiative.
