TOPIC: TTCN-3 regexp function

TTCN-3 regexp function 18 May 2004 14:01 #6669

Hi,

I am having difficulties in interpreting the clause C.17 of the
TTCN-3 standard where the regexp() function is specified.

Does anybody know what was the model behind the TTCN-3 regexp()
function specification? Probably knowing where it comes from
could help understanding its functionality better.

Another question:

Is the example in the clause 17 correct? Shouldn't it have been
something like:

var charstring mystring := regexp(myinput, mypattern,0)

and not:

var charstring mystring := regexp(myinput, mypattern,1)

Thanks in advance,

TTCN-3 regexp function 18 May 2004 15:05 #6670

I've used this in a Telelogic TAU Tester environment and have established that
groupno (3rd parameter) starts from 0 and not 1. Hope this helps.
